imXPAD

Ultimate X-ray imaging


imXPAD stands for "Imaging with XPAD detectors" and our goal is to create high-end X-ray hybrid pixel detectors.

Xpad detectors are based on the photon counting technology providing noiseless imaging with very high dynamic range (32 bits). Our detector are availables with USB or optical fiber connectivity providing high frame rates up to 700 images/second. Energy discrimination is available by setting a energy detection threshold, which opens the door to color imaging.

The design of our detectors is flexible allowing to create detectors with special geometries. Current detector materials used in our products are Silicon and CdTe

These detectors are particularly relevant in material sciences (synchrotron beam lines and X-ray laboratories), biomedical imaging (color CT), non destructive and industrial testing, and cultural heritage (art restauration for example). Photon counting Technology

Direct conversion sensors convert X-ray photons directly to electrical signal. No scattering is produced during the detection phase. Learn More

Noisless imaging

As each pixel can has its own detection threshold, electronic noise can be avoid by setting this threshold above the noise of each pixel.

Energy Discrimitation

Energy thresholds can be selected individually for each detector pixel. This feature allows for color imaging.

XPAD Technology

Xpad detectors are based on hybrid photon counting pixels. Hybrid means that the sensor layer is attached to the electronic layer using bumps. Like this, sensor and electronics form a single device.

Fast frame-rate

Frame rates up to 700 images/sec allowing for slow motion video.

Friendly Software

Software base in a Server/Client structure allowing for easy XPAD detector control.

Gating

Ultra fast gate (minimum time of 150 ns) allowing the integration of synchrotron beam bunches.
